Cory E. Cookingham, Sr., M.D., Gail A. Cookingham, M.D., M.S.B.A., and Joel A. Beene, M.D. believe in providing their patients with the highest quality asthma and allergy care through allergen avoidance and disease prevention. We strive to ease the year-round and seasonal sneezing, headaches, ear infections, and asthma symptoms experienced by many people in southeast Michigan. And, we hope to ease our patients’ chronic gastrointestinal  discomfort by identification and avoidance of relevant food allergens.

Cory E. Cookingham, Sr., M.D.


Dr. Cory E. Cookingham, Sr., M.D. is the founder of Cookingham Allergy and Asthma Associates. Dr. Cookingham is a graduate of the University of Michigan School of Medicine. He completed pediatric and allergy and immunology training at the University of Michigan Medical Center and is certified by the American Board of Pediatrics and the American Board of Allergy and Immunology. He is a past President of the Michigan Allergy Society. Additionally, he has served as President of the Genesee Valley Lung Association, Director of the Michigan Lung Association, and President of the Flint Rotary Club. Dr. Cookingham established his medical practice in 1958. He retired in March 2012.

Gail A. Cookingham, M.D., M.S.B.A.


Dr. Gail A. Cookingham, M.D., M.S.B.A., received a B.S. in Nutrition from Michigan State University and an M.D. from St. Louis University School of Medicine. She completed an internal medicine residency at William Beaumont Hospital, Royal Oak, Michigan and an allergy and immunology fellowship at Detroit Medical Center. She received an M.S.B.A. from Madonna University, Livonia, Michigan. She is certified by the American Board of Allergy and Immunology, a conjoint board of the American Board of Internal Medicine and Pediatrics. She is a past delegate to Michigan State Medical Society representing Michigan Allergy and Asthma Society. She is past President of the Michigan Allergy and Asthma Society. Her allergy and asthma practice locations are Clarkston, Kimball (Port Huron) and Flint. Her special interests include gluten sensitivity, food allergy, eczema, urticaria, and asthma, as well as other allergic conditions. She cares for both adult and pediatric patients.

Joel A. Beene, M.D.


Dr. Joel A. Beene, M.D. is a graduate of the University of California at Berkeley and St. Louis University School of Medicine. He performed an internal medicine residency at St. Louis University Medical Center and an allergy and immunology fellowship at Henry Ford Hospital. His practice locations are Flint, Fenton, Owosso and Birch Run.
